George P. Anaipakos

Senior Consultant and Cyber Crimes Instructor

George has over thirty years of combined experience as a city, state and federal law enforcement professional.  He is a retired Supervisory Special Agent with the Department of Homeland Security, and in addition has served with several other Federal agencies.  In 1998 he was selected to attend the Computer Investigative Specialist (CIS) training program presented by the United States Treasury Department.  While employed by the United States Customs Service in South Florida he helped establish the Computer Forensics Laboratory, and was the supervisor of the Computer Forensics Group from 2004 until his retirement.

George has extensive experience in public corruption and breach of public trust investigations.  While assigned to an Internal Affairs office he was the case agent in several successful investigations that sparked media attention.  He has traveled extensively, both to Europe and the Far East, conducting interviews and obtaining evidence.  Following a long-term undercover investigation, which ferreted out corruption within the South Florida law enforcement community, George received the coveted Commissioner's Citation.

George has a diverse background, with training and experience in both military and law enforcement areas.  As a federal law enforcement officer he has served on Secret Service protection details during several elections, the Olympic Games in Atlanta and Salt Lake City and the Anniversary of the United Nations in New York City.  He has been a member of the Customs Overseas Analysis Team (COATS), examining security procedures at airports and seaports in Central America, and was recently assigned to southern Europe as a special agent team member of the Container Security Initiative Program (CSI).

The objective of CSI is to prevent the introduction of weapons of mass destruction into sea containers and cargo bound for the United States by using non-intrusive inspection of cargo containers.  These methods include gamma and x-rays devices, and the use of Smith-Heimann mobile examination vehicles, as well as radiation detection portals installed at ports of entry.  George has assisted with cargo inspections prior to and after the 2004 Athens Olympic Games.

George is a veteran of both the US Marine Corps and US Army Airborne; and served as a fire-team leader in combat in Southeast Asia.  He is a federal and state certified firearms instructor and armorer, and has competed in and won several national shooting competitions.  He holds current certification as a law enforcement officer in the State of Florida.
